Sept. 18, 2011 The Greatness of Our God: Omniscience

“Our current series is on the amazing attributes of God. Today we will be focusing on God’s knowledge. Because God is God, He has complete and total knowledge. He knows all things. He knows the past. He knows the present. And He knows the future. God’s omniscience is not restricted to any one person in the Godhead. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all by nature omniscient. This knowledge brings to us several responses. One, it brings us comfort. The fact that God knows our every need; He knows our trials and our hardships, brings a tremendous measure of comfort and peace to our soul.”

Psalm 104:1-35 "Our sermon series for this fall will be focused on the attributes of God. Because we live in a world with so many acceptable religions and because we see such an increase in spiritual deception (which will continue to get worse until the return of Christ), it is imperative that we have the right view of God. Even people sitting in churches on a weekly basis have misconceptions of who God is. People make up in their mind what they want God to be. This series will be important because it will help us rightly understand the nature and the character of God. When our view of God is right, then other things (worship, relationships, ethics, etc.) will be in alignment. This morning, we are examining the attribute “omnipotent.” God is all-powerful. No one or nothing can match His ability to do what He wants to do. God’s unlimited power is evidenced through creation…by speaking the universe into existence ‘out of nothing;’ through miracles; through authority over demonic forces; and through salvation…raising the spiritually dead to life. Nothing can compare to the greatness and the power of our God.”
